Business Incentives

The Town of Hamden is focused on developing its commercial tax base, increasing job opportunities and improving the quality of life in its neighborhoods. The Town of Hamden does this through the many programs and services offered though the Town’s long-range Economic Development Plan.

Since 1998, the department has implemented a comprehensive, long-range Economic Development Plan, putting initiatives into action through several business incentives and programs for new and existing businesses in Town.   The Town offers numerous benefits through its business incentive program and provides linkage to numerous commercial lenders.  The Town offers programs that encourage business start-ups and growth.  Such services include business planning through is Business Assistance Center.

The incentive programs are often used as part of larger redevelopment initiatives at blighted underutilized locations.   Examples of where we have used the business incentives are located on the Redevelopment Photo Gallery.

The Town of Hamden supports the development of its commercial tax base and the creation of jobs through the offer of these incentives and programs to any kind of business, anywhere in Town.
