Tax Credits For Business Incubator Project

The Hamden Economic Development Corporation has been approved to offer businesses an opportunity for a 60% tax credit for contributions towards its Business Incubator Project under the Neighborhood Assistance Act.
State Funds $5M Grant for Hamden Business Incubator

On Friday the CT Bond Commission approved a five million dollar grant for the development of the 40,000 S.F. Hamden Business Incubator. The facility will be located at 496 Newhall Street and will be owned and operated by the Hamden Economic Development Corporation (HEDC). This Town building has been mostly abandoned since the early 2000s.

HEDC is an independent, 501C4 Corporation that serves as a tool to develop the tax base and create jobs in Hamden and as an advocate for businesses in Town. The HEDC focuses on redevelopment of properties and other projects that the conventional real estate community are unable to work on due to contamination, tax problems and complicated title issues.
400 Goodrich Street / 55 Daisy Street Redevelopment Project Remediation Completed

HEDC has completed the final remediation phase of 400 Goodrich/55Dasisy Street project. The site was formerly the location of Metropolitan Global Metal Finishing which had been vacant and abandoned form over 20 years. The new owner Tricon Construction will move their company to Hamden to this location is spring of 2012.
