(Hamden, Conn. — May 18, 2009) Hamden’s access to quality health care is improving. The physicians of The Cardiology Group, P.C. announced the opening of their new flagship office at 1952 Whitney Avenue in Hamden, Conn. on June 15.

This new location includes over 7,500 square feet of clinical, diagnostic and administrative offices. The staff of 30 includes 7 board certified cardiologists, 2 advanced practice nurses, 2 registered nurses, 5 technologists, medical assistants and a business support staff.

The Cardiology Group offers complete outpatient/preventive diagnostic and treatment services and specialized, personal inpatient care. Patients include those with acute and chronic heart disease and people with risk factors for heart disease such as high blood pressure and high cholesterol. Primary care physicians refer patients to The Cardiology Group when a symptom, physical finding or test result suggests the possibility of heart disease. Patients also see these physicians for routine cardiac clearance prior to non-cardiac surgery, to obtain a second opinion before making an important medical decision or for the assurance of a thorough cardiac evaluation before beginning a new exercise program.

The new Hamden office is the central headquarters that supports satellite clinical facilities in Branford, North Haven, Wallingford and West Haven.
