Matchmaker Conference Links Small Businesses to Government Contracting Opportunities on June 13

Entrepreneurial Center, University of Hartford
May 26, 2013

The CT Business Advantage 2013 Matchmaker Conference is a not-to-be-missed event for any small business looking to expand sales through government contracting opportunities. The Entrepreneurial Center at the University of Hartford and the U. S. Small Business Administration Connecticut District are sponsoring this important event that gives small businesses the chance to connect with prime contractors and government agencies. Expanding sales of products and services through government contracting offers a new avenue of growth for many small businesses.

The government, including local, state, and federal, is one of the largest consumers of goods and services in the United States. The government agencies and large companies/prime contractors that win the government contracts must subcontract a percentage of that work to small businesses. This conference also offers an opportunity for large companies and government agencies to expand and diversify their list of suppliers and subcontractors. At the conference, small businesses will have the opportunity to meet the procurement and small business liaison officers of prime contractors in a series of 10 minute one-on-one appointments. This provides participants a unique prospect for developing new contacts and business relationships.

The conference will take place on Thursday, June 13, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Gengras Student Union at the University of Hartford in West Hartford. The early registration fee, before May 30, is $30; after May 30 the charge will be $45. To register, visit: http://www.regonline/ctmm2013 or call 860-768-5681.

The University of Hartford's Entrepreneurial Center was founded in 1985 and offers business counseling, trainings, mentoring and technical assistance for new and expanding small businesses, as well as aspiring entrepreneurs in Connecticut.
