Replay Records Opens On Whitney Avenue

Replay Records wishes to announce they have relocated the business to 2586 Whitney Avenue in Hamden. Their phone number has stayed the same – 203-934-9999. They are currently open for business and will have a grand opening sometime in the spring.

Doug and Mary Snyder first established Replay Records in New Haven in 1989. Then in 1990 they moved to West Haven, where they operated until the end of 2006. The current move was facilitated by economic and geographic reasons. The new location is much closer to their home in Hamden, plus, it’s on a busier, more active business strip, with good access to I-91 and the Wilbur Cross parkway.

Replay attracts people from NY to Boston and all over the state and metropolitan area to buy their high quality new and used vinyl. They even have a high number of international customers, from Japan, Greece, Italy and the UK.

“A lot of people don’t realize how popular records have become in this digital age,” said Douglas. “With the right equipment and the proper handling of your records, the sound is amazing. And the entire history of sound can be found on records. Only 15% of the entire catalog of music is currently available on compact disc, so any serious music collector needs to own vinyl!”

“The truth is, we hear in analog, so records naturally have a warmer sound with more depth to the recordings,” said Mary. “It’s more than just nostalgia – it’s the way music was intended to be heard.”

Replay Records is located next door to Blessings II Go restaurant. There is additional parking in the Joseph A. Conte Jewelry store parking lot. Come on down and browse through their bins. It’s sure to put you “back in the day” of LP’s and 45’s.

Replay buys and sells new and used quality vinyl at affordable prices. Appointments to sell records can be made over the telephone. “We can’t buy every old record you have in the attic, though,” say the Snyder’s. “Some records sold in the millions. We’re looking for those unusual, less commercial items that were overlooked when they came out.” Their hours are Monday through Friday, 11am to 6pm, Saturday 11am to 5pm and Sunday 12pm to 4pm. They are closed on Wednesday.
