New Tenants Announced at Marketplace in Hamden

New Tenants Announced at Marketplace in Hamden

Wilder Companies from Boston Leases Remaining Spaces

At Marketplace, one of Hamden’s premier shopping center, two new tenants will arrive  in 2019.

Ulta Health and Beauty Products will move into the former Modell’s space.

They will relocate from North Haven. Ulta sells hair, skin, bath and body products as well as beauty services for women of all ages.

Their web site is https://www.ulta.com/

Orangetheory Fitness will move into the remaining space formerly occupied by TJ Max, next to Platos Closet. Orangetheory Fitness customizes workouts and nutrition plans in a group format while showing the physiological results on heart and health monitors throughout the gym. Mayor Curt Balzano Leng was pleased with the additions to Marketplace. “It’s a great sign for the Hamden economy when vacancies are filled so quickly. We’re seeing an unquestionable spark of interest in our community, bringing a diverse range of commercial choices to our residents - good for our tax base and our neighborhoods!”

Marketplace is at the corner of Dixwell Avenue and Skiff Street. Other current tenants include Staples, Stop and Shop, Pier One Imports and Old Navy among others. Marketplace was developed in the early 1990s. This center was purchased by the Wilder Companies in 2016 for over $52 million dollars.

Wilder Companies is one of the larger real estate development and management companies in the northeast. For further information about the Wilder companies go to https://www.wilderco.com/

“We are really pleased about the strength of the retail market in our primary shopping district.” This results in another one of our 5 main centers that is now 100% occupied. With these tenants, the developer also shows that it knows the strength of our marketplace in terms of demographics and shopping habits”, stated Dale Kroop, Director of Economic and Neighborhood Development.
