Dancers’ Gallery Opens in Hamden
Tradition, Tradition, Tradition
Dancers’ Gallery has recently opened “Studio 2” a new 5,000 square foot state of the art dance facility, located at 109 Sanford Street in Hamden. The school known as (Teresa Signore’s School of Dance) was founded in 1952 by Miss Signore and then led by the late Judith Rumsey.
Teresa Gambardella owner and director of Dancer’s Gallery since 1988 continues to honor the Philosophy of Ms. Signore’s providing the students with the opportunity to develop self-confidence, grace, poise, creativity and concentration skills. At a young age, Terry began training in New York City under numerous Broadway Notables specializing in Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Musical Theater. She began her professional career at the age of 19 and has performed in many productions nationwide. She is a member of the Professional Dance Teachers of America (PDTA) and Actors Equity Association (AEA). During 27 years of Terry’s teaching and choreographing, she has been the recipient of many choreography and special awards in both local and national events and her students have been recognized for their technical achievement and great style on stage. Most recently, Terry received three Choreography Awards for her Jazz and Tap routines presented in the 2007 National Competitions in Atlantic City. As rewarding as the above accolades are for her talents, nothing is more satisfying to her then having her students recognized for their achievements and honors both on and off the stage, and in their pursuit of successful careers in all their future endeavors. Terry remains committed to enrich today’s youth with a rewarding and artistic experience.
